The caves of Can Riera are situated close to the town of Torrelles de Llobregat, 17km from Barcelona (roughly a half hour drive). Over time, wind and rain created the attractive shapes on the sandstone walls of these caves, which resemble Antelope Canyon in Arizona.

Red dust from the clay covers all the surfaces so you will likely get a bit of it on your clothes. The path up to the caves is filled with cactuses and requires a bit of clambering with hands and feet.

The walk to the caves is very pretty, passing through wooded areas and farmland.

How to get to Las Cuevas de Can Riera

By public transport you can take the train from Plaça d’Espanya to Sant Vicenç dels Horts. From there it is a short bus ride on the L71 to Torrelles de Llobregat. Once in town you can follow this route on Wikiloc to reach the caves.
