Bobo Pulpín has been permanently closed. Situated directly behind Barcelona Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter, Bobo Pulpín is a culinary shrine to the octopus.
This pulperia goes beyond the classic Pulpo a la Gallega (Galician style octopus), serving octopus dishes from around the world, from China (accompanied by bamboo and sweet and sour sauce) to Peru (black bread sandwich with fried octopus, anticucho sauce and coriander mayonnaise). The Korean interpretation uses kimchi and cucumber, giving some kick.
Bobo Pulpín also serves classic tapas dishes such as patatas bravas, tortilla de patata, pimientos de Padrón and croquetas. The bravas sauce comes with the seal of the local culinary legend Albert Adrià, with whom the restaurant owners have collaborated on several projects.
Bobo Pulpín has a fun atmosphere and is perfect for a family outing. Prices are modest in relation to the quality of the food. The restaurant is owned by Grup Iglesias along with Rías de Galicia, Espai Kru and Casa de Tapas Cañota.
