Let’s start with the Fira de Port Vell (in the neighbourhood of Barceloneta), which is a market of about 5000m2. You can find this fair at Plaça del Portal de la Pau. There is an enormous tree of more than 30 meters high, and it is fully decorated with Christmas lights. This will be a lovely sight to see.

The fair lasts from December 5 to January 5, and the market invites every visitor to come and enjoy its classic carousel, a floating nativity scene, a stage with different types of entertainment and food stalls.

If you are still looking for Christmas gifts, then don’t forget to visit this fair, because you can find (almost) everything you will need for Christmas here.

Three Kings’ Fair

The Feria de Reyes de la Gran Via (in the district of Eixample) will begin on December 19 and end on January 6, 2020.

There is so much to discover at this Christmas market, because there are more than 270 stalls with gifts and handmade products, like hats, clothing, decorative objects, jewellery, soap, ceramics and much, much more.

And if you get hungry while visiting this large fair, you will be happy to know that there will also be food stalls. The atmosphere is incredible, and you can feel the Christmas spirit all around you. Don’t miss this great event that takes place at Barcelona’s Gran Via, more specifically between Carrer de Muntaner and Carrer de Rocafort.

Christmas at Plaça Catalunya (in the district of Ciutat Vella) is quite a spectacle, and you shouldn’t miss it for the world. There will be a variety of workshops, shows, and activities specially designed for both children and adults from December 22 to January 4.

Don’t be surprised when you see a ballet dancer coming out of a giant music box and disappearing into a snowball…

So be sure to participate in all the different cultural, sports and leisure activities. There are so many options to choose from, but on the internet you will find the programme with all the details.

A part of the fair consists of a responsible consumerism fair, and – in addition to several leisure activities – you can also find projects that are related to the solidarity economy and responsible consumption at this fair.

There will be musical acts, moments of discussion and reflection, and awareness-raising activities for everyone.

The fair at Plaça de Catalunya is open every day from 11.00 to 20.30h, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. And from January 2 – 4 families with children can visit the Three Magic Kings at this fair. After all, besides Christmas, this is the moment many children have been waiting for all year long.

Which fair do you like most? If you love this season, you will probably visit each and every one of them. Haven’t visited one yet? Make sure to enjoy it in the good company of family, friends or other loved ones.
